We may automatically collect:

• Device type and operating system
• App usage activity (features used, session duration)

• Anonymous analytics data

We do not collect precise location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Deliver daily career insights

• Power goal tracking and progress features
• Provide AI-based coaching responses

3. AI Coaching Feature

The Apex Career Coach™ is powered by OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., San Francisco, CA). When you use the coaching feature, the following data is transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate your personalized responses:

• Messages and inputs you send to the coach
• Career context you have provided in the app, such as your current role, job title, career goals, and experience level

OpenAI processes this data solely to generate coaching responses. Under OpenAI's API terms, data submitted via the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. OpenAI maintains data protection practices that provide equal or greater protection to your personal data as described in this policy. Additionally:

• AI responses are informational only and should not be considered professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
• Apex may store a summary of context you have shared with the coach in order to personalize future coaching sessions. This context is stored securely and associated with your account.
• You can opt out of context sharing at any time in Coach Settings.

You will be asked to grant permission before your data is sent to OpenAI. You may withdraw this permission at any time in Coach Settings, which will disable the AI coaching feature.

You should avoid entering sensitive personal, legal, or confidential employer information.

4. Rate Limiting

To ensure fair use and system stability:

• AI coaching interactions may be subject to daily or monthly rate limits.
• Limits may vary by subscription tier.
• We reserve the right to modify limits at any time.

5. Subscriptions

Apex offers a paid subscription that unlocks:

• Full AI coaching access
• Expanded goals functionality
• Advanced learning features and curated content

Free users may have limited access to certain features.

Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Apple or Google). We do not store your full payment details.

6. Data Sharing

We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate the App. The following third parties may receive personal data as part of operating the App:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC) — cloud infrastructure, authentication, and database storage
• OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) — AI coaching responses; receives coaching messages and career context as described in Section 3
• RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — subscription management and payment processing
• Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — anonymous usage analytics
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions

Each of these providers is contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it for the purposes for which it was shared. Only information necessary to operate the App is shared. We never sell your personal data.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the product.

You may request deletion of your account at any time.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or request portability of your personal data, or withdraw consent where applicable.
